There is never a dull moment for cinema lovers in Lisbon.
Horror movies, french movies, independent cinema, there is always a film festival happening in the city and this time is time to film documentaries to shine.
The documentary film festival, Doclisboa, starts tomorrow and will last about 10 days, until the end of the month.
There are 12 different section to choose from, from the International Competition, to the Peter Watkins Retrospective and the Heart Beat section, that features several art related documentaries, namely films about David Bowie or David Lynch.
Screenings will take place in 7 spaces, such as Culturgest, Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa and Museu do Oriente, amongst others.
Doclisboa turns 14 this year and it is the only Portuguese film festival that was elected by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences to pre-nominate candidates to the OSCARS®, becoming the first portuguese festival qualified by the Academy. This festival is also a member of Doc Alliance; it was distinguished with de EFFE Label and was invited to indicate films for the European Film Academy on the category of European Documentary.
