The Lisbon Zoo is located in Sete Rios area and in this lovely park you will be able to find species literally from every corner of the world and travel around the globe, without leaving our beautiful city of Lisbon.
This zoo houses around 2000 animals, between mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and arthropds.
Among its main attractions there’s the popular Dolphin’s Bay, the Enchanted Forest were you can share the space with free flying birds while learning about recycling and environmental values, the Children’s Farm, a charming petting zoo, and the cable car, that enables visitors to move around the zoo and be closer to wild animals, without disturbing them or being in danger.
But more than a place to enjoy seeing rare animals and have some fun, the Lisbon Zoo has a clear mission: to run a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species.
So when we visit this zoo and get amazed by the tigers from India, or when we feed the goofy pelicans, or laugh with african monkeys, we are not only learning about animal life and having a good time, we are also doing our share by contributing to an important project of conservation of endangered species and their habitats.
And one of the greatest things about Lisbon Zoo is that it was designed to guarantee that everyone leaves with a smile in their face, from toddlers to grandparents, from families to groups of friends.
