If you are from Lisbon, or if you have been here recently, this is no big surprise.
Over the last year Lisbon has become better and better, with new edgy museums and events, and this was one of the main reasons that made Wallpaper magazine, the bible of all design magazines, consider Lisbon the Best “Design City” of 2017.
The shortlist included fierce competitors, such San Francisco, Viena, Washington DC and as Shenzhen, but the brand new MAAT Museum building, by Amanda Levete, and design related events like ARCOLisboa, Experimenta Design and Trienal de Arquictectura, gave Portugal’s capital a big push towards the first prize.
Lisbon is still going through a big regeneration process, alongside the river Tejo, so 2017 is expected to be a great year to visit our gorgeous city.
