Lisboners have a sweet tooth and luckily there are several great ice cream stores in Lisbon, but not all of them are so popular as Nannarella.
If you pass by its door, it’s very usual to see a long line of people eager to taste their delicious ice creams and sorbets, roman style, rain or shine.
This ice cream place is owned by an Italian team and it opened in 2013, in a very small shop in São Bento area. Recently they move to a bigger space, located in the same street.
All of their ice creams are made according to a traditional Italian recipe, using Portuguese ingredients, like the famous “Rocha” pear, and everything is 100% natural, with no added color or preservatives.
And Nannarella’s ice cream flavors are to die for: tiramisú, stracciatella, cassata, gianduía, mango, pear, coffee, nut, cream, vanilla… Well, let’s just stop over there.
All portions are very generous (and very affordable), served as Italian tradition dictates, with a spatula.
You can ask for a cup or cone and if you are a really big fan of sweet things, try one of their special cones, covered in chocolate and nuts.
At Nannarella the only con is that it will be really difficult to decide what to try first.
